The team
The Capacity Management team, located in the Production Tribe of the Group Technology Service Division, is organized around 3 main domains: Mainframe and Tandem technologies, Distributed technologies and a transversal domain supporting Business and Service Capacity Management, including the data and reporting infrastructure.
The Capacity Management team is responsible for a full set of activities covering both Capacity and Performance aspects. The team
- collects the demand and forecasts the consumption of IT infrastructure ,
- handles capacity and performance operations to prevent Capacity and/or Performance incidents to occur, and
- is involved in various projects for ensuring applications are rightly sized and well-tuned before going in production.
The role:
As IT Capacity manager – Business Service Domain your mission is to look at the Business Service angle of Capacity management and analyse data from the technical platforms as well as the business dimension, translating that data into messages and recommendations so IT management, Procurement and Project Management can act on.
The Capacity Management Business Service Domain is acting as a bridge between the technical infrastructure domains and the experience of the real business clients, aiming to align both perceptions of the capacity and performance of the IT infrastructure supported by IT and Business services perceived by the clients. This will require a strong collaboration with your colleagues in the other capacity management domains and building relationships with our business stakeholders to collect their views. You are bringing the IT and Business worlds together.
Your main responsibilities will encompass the following activities:
- Build an understanding and documentation for a set of Euroclear Business Services: the underlying applications and platforms, their use of IT resources, working patterns, peaks, business volumes, SLA targets, capacity limitations, future application and business evolution, etc.
- Implement the collection and reporting of business and service metrics for key services.
- Build capacity models to correlate Business Volumes with Resource utilisation and Service levels. This will require an in depth understanding of the Business Drivers and Service Level Agreements on the Euroclear platforms.
- Build the yearly roadmap for the Capacity and Performance Assessments (CPA) to evaluate the capacity and performance related risks for critical services.
- Conduct the monthly CPA exercise according to the roadmap and present the results towards the key business stakeholders.
- Regular monitoring of the capacity and performance of Business Services.
- Identification and Investigation of capacity and performance issues, report in a comprehensive manner and propose mitigating actions to your stakeholders.
- Collaborate to the publication of the annual capacity plan and the monthly Capacity Follow-up reports.
- Contribute projects to collect and validate the demand, assess the feasibility of the proposed solution, and make recommendations on the Design and Sizing based on Business requirements.
The required skills and experience:
- Analytical mindset and an understanding of statistics; ability to analyse and correlate data from different angles such as IT resource usage, service performance metrics, business volumes, etc.
- Good knowledge of SQL language (writing queries) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or Power BI (capabilities of creating SQL queries and build reporting).
- You have proven experience as IT system engineer, IT application developer or IT Service (Delivery) Manager
- A good level of expertise in Excel is a must.
- Good English communication skills (written and spoken) and you are able to create synthetic complex understandable capacity or performance reports adapted to the target audience: management, business or technical people.

Nice to have skills:
- Experience within the capacity management domain as process or technical expert
- Knowledge of Euroclear Business Services
